3DP PPE @ UCLA: Making it Through a Pandemic


The first batch of face shields delivered to UCLA Health for evaluation. The numbers allow technicians to keep track of preferred settings/materials.

At the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, the UCLA Library Lux Lab quickly became involved with other campus groups, including UCLA Health, and began working to make up for PPE shortages at UCLA Health and other area medical facilities. In particular, the Lux Lab co-led efforts to produce enough reusable face shields for the entire UCLA Health system. The webinar below gives an overview of that face shield project, as well as some of the Lux Lab’s other work during the pandemic.
